Senators move into first in East

Chris Neil scored twice, Jason Spezza hit the 100-point mark and Anton Volchenkov recorded four assists as Binghamton surged past Philadelphia on Wednesday night, 7-4, to take over first place in the East Division.

The Senators have 90 points, one better than the Phantoms.

Binghamton scored four times in the third period to secure the victory and improve to 11-1-1-3 in its last 16 games.

Spezza assisted on Antoine Vermette‘s first-period goal for his 100th point of the season. He would finish the game with a goal and two assists and a league-leading 102 points on the year.

Brandon Bochenski, Pat Kavanagh and Josh Langfeld also scored for the Senators, and Ray Emery finished with 33 saves.

Ben Eager scored two goals for the Phantoms.
