Sharks sign Bollig to one-year contract

The San Jose Sharks announced today that the club has signed forward Brandon Bollig to a one-year contract.

Bollig, 30, set career highs with 11 goals, 11 assists and 22 points in 60 games with the AHL’s Stockton Heat last season, and tied for seventh in the league with 136 penalty minutes.

In five postseason games, Bollig registered one goal.

Bollig has played 206 AHL games with Stockton and Rockford, posting 24 goals and 22 assists for 46 points with 578 PIM.

In the NHL, Bollig has collected 10 goals, 13 assists and 392 penalty minutes in 241 career games with Calgary and Chicago. He won a Stanley Cup championship with the Blackhawks in 2013.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound native of St. Charles, Missouri, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Blackhawks on April 3, 2010.
