The San Jose Sharks announced today that the club has signed defenseman Jacob Middleton to to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Middleton, 21, spent last season with the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda, posting one goal and eight assists with a plus-11 rating in 50 regular-season games. He added four assists in 13 Calder Cup Playoff games as the Barracuda advanced to the Western Conference Finals.
A native of Wainwright, Alta., Middleton was originally selected by Los Angeles in the seventh round of the 2014 NHL Draft.
