Sharks to embark on “30 Days of Hockey”

wor_200.jpgWorcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced today the kickoff of the second annual "30 Days of Sharks Hockey" celebration. The countdown to the home opener at the DCU Center on Oct. 13 at 7:05 p.m. versus the Portland Pirates is set to begin.

"30 Days of Sharks Hockey" is a month-long community celebration that includes mascot Finz and player appearances, contests, raffles, new community initiatives, the launch of new ticket packages and so much more.

The countdown begins Thursday, Sept. 13, with the launch of a new and improved team Web site — sharksahl.com — and the release of what promises to be a very exciting promotional schedule.

Team Teal will host events at the DCU Center such as an individual ticket sales party on Sept. 22 at 10:00 a.m. This will be the public’s first chance to purchase 2007-08 individual game tickets.

On Sept. 27 at 11:00 a.m., the Sharks will unveil their new Rbk Edge jersey style for the season and announce an unprecedented community initiative. A Teal vs. White scrimmage is scheduled immediately following the press conference and both will be open and free to the public.

In addition, the Shark Head Shootout will make appearances to numerous festivals and parties throughout Worcester County.

“We are committed to being strong community partners throughout the entire Central Massachusetts region,” said Lehr. “We created the 30 Days of Sharks Hockey to serve as a phenomenal way to get excited about Opening Night on October 13.”
