Stars add depth with Mueller

The Dallas Stars, parent club of the AHL’s Texas Stars, announced today that the club has signed free-agent center Chris Mueller to a one-year contract.

Mueller, 27, split the 2012-13 regular season between Nashville and the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. He posted five points (two goals, three assists) in 18 NHL contests with Nashville, including his first career NHL goal on Mar. 19 at Columbus. In 55 games for Milwaukee, where he served as the team’s alternate captain, Mueller finished third on the team with 36 points (18 goals, 18 assists) and second in goals.

Entering his sixth full season of professional hockey, Mueller has recorded 92 goals and 97 assists for 189 points in 323 career AHL contests, setting career highs in 2011-12 in goals (32), assists (28) and points (60). Mueller has also registered eight goals and nine assists in 25 career Calder Cup Playoff games.

A native of West Seneca, N.Y., Mueller has two goals and six assists in 37 career NHL outings, all with Nashville.
