Strong third period gives Moose win over Marlies

Four unanswered goals from the Moose, including three in the third period, helped Manitoba to a 5-3 win playing at division rival Toronto on Thursday night.

Defenseman Alex Edler, who has five points in his last three games, recorded a pair of goals on the night while teammates Jason Jaffray and Lee Goren each recorded three points (1g, 2a).

Moose netminder Drew MacIntyre, who is 4-2-2 with a 2.01 and .934 save percentage in December, stopped 27 shots in win for Manitoba, who have earned points in each of its last five games by going 2-0-1-2.

Erik Westrum registered a goal and an assist for the Marlies in a losing effort.
