Houston broke through for a pair of third-period goals and took a 2-0 road win over San Antonio on Sunday at the AT&T Center.
Aeros goaltender Anton Khudobin earned the shutout, stopping all 28 shots sent his way.
Jean-Michel Daoust added an unassisted empty-net marker in the closing minute for Houston, which swept a pair of games from the Rampage on the weekend.
ROCHESTER 3, SYRACUSE 0
Rookie goaltender Alexander Salak made 34 saves for his first shutout of the season as Rochester posted a 3-0 win over visiting Syracuse on Sunday at the Blue Cross Arena.
Salak stopped 13 shots in the first period, six in the second, and 15 in the third period and improved to 5-0-0 on the season.
The Amerks have now won seven straight games and improved to 8-1-1-0 on the young season.
Hartford finished with back-to-back wins at home on the weekend after dropping a 3-2 decision at Adirondack on Friday.
BRIDGEPORT 4, ALBANY 1
Justin DiBenedetto registered two goals and an assist to lead Bridgeport to a 2-1 win over visiting Albany on Sunday at the Arena at Harbor Yard.
Bridgeport goaltender Nathan Lawson earned the victory with 36 saves on 37 shots in net.
Nick Dodge netted the lone goal for the River Rats.
SPRINGFIELD 4, LOWELL 2
Chris Minard netted a hat trick to lead Springfield to a 4-2 road win over Lowell on Sunday at Tsongas Arena.
Liam Reddox also scored for the Falcons, who captured their first road victory of the season after starting 0-4-1-0 away from the MassMutual Center.
GRAND RAPIDS 6, ABBOTSFORD 1
Grand Rapids completed a perfect home opening weekend with a 6-1 win over Abbotsford on Sunday at Van Andel Arena.
Grand Rapids goaltender Daniel Larsson picked up the victory with 41 saves on 42 shots in net.
Heat forward Carsen Germyn broke up Larsson’s shutout bid with a power play goal at 14:28 of the third period.
HERSHEY 3, PORTLAND 2
Steve Pinizzotto’s shorthanded goal at 12:35 of the third period broke a 2-2 tie and lifted Hershey to a 3-2 win over visiting Portland on Sunday at the Giant Center.
