The Stars are brightly shining

Francis Wathier had a goal and an assist and Texas jumped out to a 3-0 lead before holding on for a 4-3 victory over Oklahoma City at Cedar Park Center on Monday night.

Attendance was 6,611 for the teams’ final game before the Christmas break.

Aaron Gagnon, Colton Sceviour (shorthanded) and Raymond Sawada also scored for the Stars, who moved into third place in the West Division with the victory.

Maxime Fortunus recorded two assists and Richard Bachman made 10 of his 20 saves in the third period.

Colin McDonald, Greg Stewart and Shawn Belle were the goal scorers for the Barons, whose season-long losing streak reached four games.

Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers, who will join the Canadian National Team for the Spengler Cup tournament in Switzerland later this week, made 25 saves in the loss.
