Top Prospects trading card set unveiled

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association today unveiled the 2005-06 AHL Top Prospects trading card set, featuring 49 of the outstanding young players in the AHL.

The set, manufactured by Choice SportsCards of Aston, Pa., features action photos and career statistics of rising stars from all 27 AHL teams. The cards will be available for purchase in select AHL arenas and online at ahlstore.com and PHPA.com.

    In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League serves as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League clubs. The 2004-05 season sees 28 teams competing for the coveted Calder Cup championship, and more than 3.2 million fans have already attended AHL games this year alone.
