ROCHESTER 4, HAMILTON 1
The 54-year-old Rochester Americans tied a franchise record by recording their 11th straight win on Tuesday, capturing a 4-1 decision over Hamilton at the Blue Cross Arena.

Americans defenseman Jordan Henry, who entered the night with one assist in 13 games this season, scored once and added two helpers for a game-high three points, and Graham Mink tallied a goal and an assist for the Amerks.

Jamie Johnson and Chris Taylor rounded out Rochester’s scoring, as Taylor found the scoresheet for the seventh time in his last eight contests (3-7-10).

Evgeny Dadonov and defenseman Jason Garrison were each plus-3 on the night for the Amerks, and rookie goaltender Alexander Salak improved to 9-0-0 with 38 saves on 39 shots in net.

Mike Glumac registered the Bulldogs’ lone goal of the night.

The Americans will attempt to win their franchise-record 12th straight game when they take on the Portland Pirates on Thursday night at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.

BINGHAMTON 5, NORFOLK 3
A three-goal third period lifted Binghamton to a 5-3 road win over Norfolk on Tuesday in the opener of the division rivals’ two-game set at the Scope.

The teams entered the third period deadlocked at 2-2, but Zack Smith gave the Senators a 3-2 edge with a power play goal at 7:42. After Norfolk’s Paul Szczechura tallied a power play marker of his own – his second goal of the night – to re-tie the contest at 13:25, Ryan Keller put Binghamton on top for good at 16:18.

Smith added an empty-net tally for the Senators, who also received goals on the night from ex-Admiral Martin St. Pierre and Kaspars Daugavins.

Defenseman Craig Schira and captain Denis Hamel each posted two assists in the win, and Binghamton goaltender Andy Chiodo earned the victory with 27 saves in net.

Justin Keller registered a goal and an assist for the Admirals, whose four-game winning streak came to an end.
