NORFOLK 2, PORTLAND 1 (OT)
Brandon Bochenski scored his league-leading 11th goal of the season 2:33 into overtime to lift Norfolk to a 2-1 road win over Portland at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Tuesday. The Admirals moved to 1-1-1-0 on their eight-game road trip, which continues on Wednesday in Manchester.

Bochenski’s decisive goal came on the power play and was assisted by Mike Lundin and Juraj Simek. It marked Bochenski’s third game-winning tally of the campaign.

The Pirates grabbed a 1-0 lead when ex-Admiral Kyle Wanvig lit the lamp at 12:29 of the opening frame, with defensemen Mike Weber and Matt Generous earning the helpers.

But Norfolk countered in the final minute of the middle frame, as Radek Smolenak registered his second goal of the season. Martins Karsums and Adam Hall picked up assists.

Admirals rookie goaltender Dustin Tokarski secured the victory with 24 saves on 25 shots, improving to 6-5-0 on the season.

ABBOTSFORD 4, HAMILTON 1
Abbotsford scored the game’s first four goals and cruised to a 4-1 win over visiting Hamilton on Tuesday at the Entertainment & Sports Centre.

Rookie defenseman John Negrin posted a goal and an assist for a third consecutive game, and the Heat also got goals from Jason Jaffray, Kris Chucko, and Cam Cunning. Jaffray’s tally marked his team-leading ninth of the season and fourth in his last four contests.

Abbotsford defenseman Matt Pelech chipped in two assists in the win, and goaltender Leland Irving earned the victory with 33 saves in net.

David Desharnais put the Bulldogs on the board with a power play score at 12:03 of the third period. Hamilton will seek revenge when the teams square off for a rematch on Wednesday night.
