After a scoreless second frame, the Penguins took the lead for good at 11:11 of the third on defenseman Reid Cashman’s first career AHL goal.

Wallace extended the lead to 4-2 at the 18:02 mark, and Joey Mormina added an empty-net marker in the closing minute.

Penguins goaltender John Curry made 21 saves on 22 shots to improve to 17-7-0 on the campaign.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton secured its 30th win overall (30-16-1-2) and moved four points up on idle Bridgeport for second place in the East Division, seven points back of first-place Hershey.
