Wolves edge Rampage in San Antonio, 2-1

CHICAGO 2, SAN ANTONIO 1

Defenseman Jamie Rivers broke a 1-1 tie with a power play goal at 1:04 of the second period, and it turned out to be the winning marker as Chicago took a 2-1 road victory over San Antonio on Thursday at the AT&T Center.

Chicago goaltender Brent Krahn (pictured) stopped 35 of 36 shots in net and improved to 2-0-0 in a Wolves uniform.

San Antonio initially took a 1-0 lead when rookie Chad Kolarik netted a power play goal just 1:42 into the contest, his 10th tally of the campaign.

The Wolves’ Steve Martins responded at the 12:58 mark, making it a 1-1 game heading into the first intermission.

Rivers’ eventual game-winner early in the second was assisted by Alex Brooks and Jeff Hamilton and was his third goal of the season.

The Wolves have now won two straight games, both against San Antonio, and the teams will be back on the AT&T Center ice for a rematch on Friday.
