Wroblewski joins Amerks’ coaching staff

The Rochester Americans announced that John Wroblewski has been named as an assistant coach. Wroblewski joins fellow assistant Chris Taylor and goaltending coach Bob Janosz on head coach Chadd Cassidy’s staff.

Wroblewski joins the Amerks after spending the last two seasons as head coach of the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators, where he compiled a record of 84-46-9-5 while leading the Gladiators to a pair of South Division titles and posting the highest points percentage in the Eastern Conference during that span. In 2011-12, Wroblewski was a co-recipient of the John Brophy Award as the ECHL’s Coach of the Year.

Prior to joining the Gladiators, he spent the 2010-11 season as assistant coach with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), helping guide the team to the Eastern Conference Finals.

A native of Neenah, Wis., Wroblewski began his coaching career with the USA Hockey Under-18 National Team Development Program (NTDP) from 2007-10. In 2010, he helped the NTDP capture the gold medal at the IIHF U-18 World Championship.

Wroblewski was a two-time team captain at the University of Notre Dame and played four seasons professionally in the ECHL.
