ROCHESTER 3, GRAND RAPIDS 1
Second-year pro Marek Zagrapan tallied a pair of goals, and Clarke MacArthur added a goal and an assist to lead visiting Rochester to a 3-1 victory over Grand Rapids on Thursday at Van Andel Arena. Zagrapan, who was picked 13th overall by Buffalo in the 2005 NHL Draft, scored two times just over four minutes apart in the second period.

The goals were the fourth and fifth of the season for Zagrapan, who scored 17 in 71 games (17-21-38) for the Amerks during his rookie season in 2006-07.

His first of the night came at 3:41 of the second period and was assisted by Anthony Stewart and Peter Aston.

Grand Rapids cut the deficit to 2-1 when Brett Engelhardt notched an unassisted goal at 9:51 of the third period, his third tally of the campaign.

MacArthur ended the evening’s scoring on the power play at 13:39, with assists going to Marc-Andre Gragnani and Mark Mancari.

MacArthur now has points in five straight games (5-5-10), and his 16 points overall (6-10-16) are tied with Syracuse rookie Derick Brassard for the AHL lead.
