When Zellio Toppazzini and John Stevens are inducted into the AHL Hall of Fame next Monday at ceremonies in Atlantic City, N.J., they will become the ninth and 10th members of the Hershey Bears to be recognized. Stevens played three games for the Bears late in the 1985 campaign before becoming a regular in 1986 for his four-year stay. "This is certainly a big thrill and honor for me and my family," Stevens said. "The AHL is a great league, and I have a lot of respect for it."
With his passion for hockey flickering and his confidence faltering, Victor Oreskovich walked away from it all in the fall of 2007. He left the Colorado Avalanche’s training camp -- abandoning the team that picked him in the second round of the 2004 draft -- and returned to Notre Dame to pursue a finance degree. He was 21 and ready to get on with his life. “I didn’t skate for a year and a half,” he said. “My heart wasn’t in it. But after a gradual amount of time, I missed it.”
