AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Lake Erie Monsters forward Tom Fritsche and Norfolk Admirals goaltender Karri Ramo have been suspended for six (6) games each as a result of their actions in a game between the teams in Norfolk on Jan. 23.

Both players were suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 70.10 for leaving the players’ bench during an altercation.

Fritsche has already served one game of his suspension. He will also miss the Monsters’ games on Friday (Jan. 30) at Syracuse; Saturday (Jan. 31) vs. Hamilton; Feb. 2 at Manitoba; Feb. 3 at Manitoba; and Feb. 6 vs. Syracuse.

Ramo will miss Norfolk’s games Thursday (Jan. 29) vs. Albany; Friday (Jan. 30) vs. Albany; Saturday (Jan. 31) at Hershey; Feb. 6 vs. Bridgeport; Feb. 7 vs. Bridgeport; and Feb. 8 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The AHL also announced that Peoria Rivermen forward Matt Foy has been suspended six (6) games as a result of his actions in a game at Houston on Jan. 23.

Foy was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 70.10 for leaving the players’ bench during an altercation.

Foy has already served one game of the suspension. He will also miss the Rivermen’s games on Friday (Jan. 30) at Iowa; Saturday (Jan. 31) vs. Iowa; Feb. 4 at Chicago; Feb. 6 at Quad City; and Feb. 8 at Milwaukee.
