Americans sign Randell to AHL contract

The Rochester Americans have signed forward Tyler Randell to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

Randell recorded three goals and five assists for eight points in 57 games with the AHL’s Belleville Senators last season.

The 27-year-old native of Scarborough, Ont., has played 288 regular-season games in the AHL over seven pro seasons with Belleville and Providence, collecting 21 goals and 30 assists for 51 points. He also has one goal in 25 Calder Cup Playoff contests, and helped the P-Bruins reach the conference finals in 2017.

A sixth-round pick by Boston in the 2009 NHL Draft, Randell has tallied six goals in 27 career NHL games, all with the Bruins in 2015-16.
