B-Sens feast on Phantoms

BINGHAMTON 7, ADIRONDACK 0
The Binghamton Senators gave their fans a Thanksgiving to remember on Thursday with a 7-0 win over Adirondack at the Broome County Arena. Josh Hennessy paced the Senators with two goals and an assist on the evening and was a game-high plus-4.

Captain Denis Hamel also registered a pair of goals for the Senators, who reached the seven-goal plateau for the first time since a 7-1 victory over Hamilton on Mar. 26, 2008.

Kaspars Daugavins, Drew Bannister, and Jim O’Brien rounded out Binghamton’s offense. Bannister scored his first AHL goal since the 2001-02 season, and O’Brien, a first-round draft pick by Ottawa in 2007, netted his first as a professional.

Defensemen Erik Karlsson (0-3-3) and Derek Smith (0-2-2) each chipped in multiple assists for the Senators. Binghamton goaltender Andy Chiodo made 34 saves for his first AHL shutout since Mar. 11, 2006, as a member of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Binghamton improved to 4-1-0-1 in its last six games and moved to a season-high two games over the .500 mark at 10-8-2-1 (23 points).

The Phantoms dropped to 2-4-0-0 in their last six contests and have been shut out twice during that span.
