Bears even things up in a Flash

MILWAUKEE, Wis. Tomas Fleischmann scored two goals and assisted on two others as Hershey evened up the 2006 Calder Cup Finals with a 6-3 win over Milwaukee in Game 2 on Saturday night at the Bradley Center.

The teams are now off until the series resumes next Saturday in Hershey.

Frederic Cassivi and the Bears withstood an early flurry that saw Milwaukee record nine of the game’s first 10 shots, then Hershey scored three times in a span of less than nine minutes to take a 3-0 lead into the locker room at the first intermission.

The Admirals clawed back to pull within one early in the third, but the Bears pulled away late to end Milwaukee’s 10-game winning streak. The Ads hadn’t lost since Game 6 of their first-round series with Iowa back on Apr. 28.

Fleischmann — nicknamed "Flash" — extended his scoring streak to nine games with his four-point performance, and now leads the team with 11 goals and 28 points in the postseason.

Lawrence Nycholat added a goal and two assists, Kris Beech had a goal and an assist and rookie defenseman Mike Green dished out three assists for the Bears, who scored at least five goals in a game for the ninth time in the 2006 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Simon Gamache had a goal and an assist while Greg Classen and Scottie Upshall also scored for the Admirals. Darren Haydar added two assists, his 12th straight game with a point.

Cassivi (13-4) finished with 24 saves on the night. Pekka Rinne stopped 26 shots and suffered his first loss in 10 playoff decisions.
