The Boston Bruins on Tuesday announced that they have assigned goaltender Jeremy Smith to the Iowa Wild, AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild.
Smith, 26, played in 39 regular-season AHL games for Providence during the 2014-15 season, posting a 22-11-5 record, a 2.05 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage with three shutouts. He was also 1-2 (1.96, .931) in three Calder Cup Playoff contests last spring.
At the American Hockey League level, Smith has a record of 109-71-15 in 205 regular-season games, recording a career 2.40 GAA, a .917 save percentage and 12 shutouts. Smith is also 8-11 in 19 postseason games, with a 2.44 GAA and a .922 save percentage.
Smith was Nashville’s second-round pick, 54th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
