Canucks sign Pinizzotto

Vancouver Canucks president and general manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks, parent club of the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, have signed right wing Steve Pinizzotto.

Pinizzotto, 27, spent the 2010-11 season with the Washington Capitals’ AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears. He collected 42 points (17 goals, 25 assists) and 178 penalty minutes in 68 games. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound forward also appeared in six AHL playoff games, recording four points (2g, 2a) and six penalty minutes.

In 2009-10, Pinizzotto recorded a plus-40 rating, good for third in the AHL.
