Condors sign Ford, Winquist

The Bakersfield Condors announced today the signing of right wing Matthew Ford and left wing Joshua Winquist to AHL contracts.

Ford, 30, is a native of West Hills, Calif., entering his third season in the Edmonton Oilers organization. Last year in Oklahoma City, Ford tallied 19 goals and 34 assists for 53 points in 69 regular-season games, and added two goals and seven assists for nine points in 10 postseason contests. He was also the recipient of the Barons’ AHL Man of the Year award for his community efforts.

Over seven pro seasons, Ford has recorded 122 goals and 133 assists for 255 points in 416 career AHL games with Oklahoma City, Springfield, Adirondack, Hershey, Lake Erie and Hartford. He was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2004.

Winquist, 22, recorded eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 46 AHL games with Oklahoma City as a rookie in 2014-15. He also appeared in 18 games with Bakersfield (ECHL), posting five goals and 18 assists.

A native of St. Albert, Alta., Winquist added two goals and two assists in 10 Calder Cup Playoff games last season.
