Coyotes acquire DeAngelo from Lightning

The Arizona Coyotes, parent club of the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners, on Saturday acquired defenseman Anthony DeAngelo from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a second-round choice (37th overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

DeAngelo, 20, registered six goals and 37 assists for 43 points in 69 games for the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch in 2015-16, ranking seventh among all league defensemen in points and fourth among defensemen and third among rookies in assists.

The Lightning’s 2014 first-round pick (19th overall) was named the Canadian Hockey League’s Defenseman of the Year in 2014-15.
