Falcons add Michael Ryan on PTO

The Springfield Falcons announced today the signing of forward Michael Ryan to a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO) with the Falcons.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Boston led the AHL’s Albany River Rats in goals during the 2008-09 season when he scored 25 markers in just 40 games that year, earning an appearance in the AHL All-Star Classic. Ryan also led the Rochester Americans with 28 goals in the 2006-07 campaign.

Ryan enters this season with 253 games of American Hockey League experiencem collecting 81 goals and 83 assists for 164 points in that span for Albany and Rochester. He has also played in 83 career National Hockey League games for Buffalo and Carolina, totaling seven goals and eight assists.

Ryan was originally drafted by the Dallas Stars in the second round (32nd overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
