SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Syracuse Crunch goaltender Dan LaCosta has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending February 4, 2007.

LaCosta posted shutouts in each of his two starts last week as the Crunch extended their winning streak to four games.

He was back in net on Saturday and again shut down the opposition, this time recording 31 saves as Syracuse blanked North Division-leading Rochester, 6-0.
