Maple Leafs, Devils make trade

The Toronto Maple Leafs, parent club of the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, have acquired forward Sergey Kalinin from the New Jersey Devils, parent club of the AHL’s Albany Devils, in exchange for defenseman Viktor Loov.

Kalinin, 25, has skated in 43 regular-season games with New Jersey this season, collecting four points (two goals, two assists). In 121 career NHL games over the last two seasons, the Omsk, Russia, native has registered 19 points (10 goals, nine assists) and 48 penalty minutes.

Loov, 24, appeared in 41 games with the Toronto Marlies this season, registering six points. Loov has skated in four career NHL games and is a former seventh-round draft pick (2012) of the Maple Leafs.

In 170 AHL games over three seasons, Loov has 11 goals and 31 assists for 42 points along with a plus-30 rating.
