McGinn, Staubitz reassigned to Worcester

wor_200.jpgSan Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forwards Jamie McGinn and Brad Staubitz to the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

McGinn has posted six points (four goals, two assists) and two penalty minutes in 35 games with San Jose. He made his NHL debut with the Sharks on Oct. 28 against Pittsburgh, scored two points (1-1=2) against the Detroit Red Wings in his second NHL game and scored the game-winning goal on Nov. 4 vs. Minnesota.

In 39 games with Worcester at the time of his recall, McGinn was sixth on the team in scoring with 26 points (16 goals, 10 assists) and tied for third in goals.

Staubitz also played in 35 games with San Jose this season, posting three points (one goal, two assists) and 76 penalty minutes. He has five assists in 38 games for Worcester in 2008-09

Staubitz scored his first NHL goal, the game-winner, on Jan. 9 in his hometown of Edmonton, AB.
