Milwaukee score three straight to beat Rockford 3-1

(milwaukeeadmirals.com) – The Admirals scored the final three goals of the game to take a 3-1 win over the Rockford IceHogs in their only home pre-season game Friday night from the Kern Center.

The Ads finish the pre-season Saturday night in Chicago and then kick off the regular season next Friday night when they host the Charlotte Checkers at 7 pm at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

After Drew LeBlanc picked up a short-handed goal mid-way through the first period to Rockford an early lead, Mike Liambas evened the score for Milwaukee at the 16:50 mark of the opening stanza. Liambas pounced on a loose puck in front of IceHogs goalie Kent Simpson and beat him with a quick wrister short-side. Frederick Gaudreau earned the lone assist on the goal.

Colton Sissons made it 2-1 Milwaukee at the 7:06 mark of the second period when he roofed on over Simpson right shoulder. The play started when Zach Budish drove to the net and dished to Josh Shalla. Shalla got a shot off and then found his own rebound before dishing to Colton for the tally.

Pontus Aberg pumped the Ads lead to 3-1 with a power-play goal at 4:01 of the third period. Hogs goalie Mac Carruth tried to play the puck away from the crease, but Aberg got there first and had a wide open night for the goal.
