Rivermen retain Ramsay

Peoria Rivermen general manager of hockey operations Kevin McDonald announced today that second-year center Ryan Ramsay has been re-signed to an American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the Peoria Rivermen, proud new primary affiliate of the St. Louis Blues.

According to club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ramsay, 22, spent most of his rookie professional season with the Worcester IceCats. In 46 AHL games in 2004-05, he scored six goals and 12 assists and incurred 93 minutes in penalties. In addition, Ramsay registered one goal, two assists and two penalty minutes while on a two-game conditioning assignment with ECHL Peoria.

A native of Ajax, Ont., Ramsay enjoyed a five-year junior-hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League with Peterborough, Kitchener and Plymouth. In 2002-03 with Plymouth, he established personal career highs in goals (33), assists (55), and points (88).
