Acquired: Signed an entry level contract with the Florida Panthers on April 3, 2008.
Last Season: Appeared in one game with the Florida Panthers (NHL)... Finished rookie season as the team’s top scoring defenseman with 35 points (8+27), fourth overall... Was +2 against Syracuse on 4/10... Returned to the lineup at Toronto on 4/08 after missing the last three games with a injury... Missed three games (4/03-4/05) with an injury... Picked up his first multi-goal game with a pair of goals against Albany on 3/25 to earn first star honors... Had a three-game assist streak (0+3) from 2/20 to 2/22... 2007-08: Was the recipient of the team's Fan Favorite Award...Second on the club with in plus-minus rating (+7)...Finished his third season with the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs (WCHA), scoring 14 points (5+9) and added 26 PIM in 26 games...He concluded his collegiate career with 29 points (nine goals and 20 assists) in 87 games
2006-07: Posted three points (1+2) in his sophomore season with the UMD...Battled the injury bug for most of the season after being knocked out of action (hip/groin) on 11/11 against Michigan Tech and being sidelined for 18 games...His heavy shot from the point was the game-winner in UMD's 2-1 triumph over Denver at the DECC on 10/27...Was a member of the 2006-07 WCHA All-Academic Team
2005-06: Supplemented his three goals with nine assists to finish his debut collegiate season with a respectable 12 points...Had a pair of two-point evenings (at home vs. North Dakota on 11/11 and vs. Yale two weeks later) to his 2005-06 credit...Was the men's hockey representative on UMD's Athletic Academic Support Scholar List for maintaining the best overall grade point average (3.45) of any Bulldog during the 2005-06 school year...Was one of only two Bulldogs defensemen to appear in all 40 games...Emerged as one of the promising young leaders on the UMD blueline in 2005-06...
2004-05: Reigned as the Nanaimo Clippers' top-scoring defenseman in his second season with the club...Skated a regular shift in 57 (of a possible 60) regular season games that year, picking up career highs in all offensive categories in goals (22), assists (40) and points (62)... that 62-point output was bettered by only one other BCHL blueliner...Was one of three Clippers to participate in the 2005 BCHL All-Star game
