Career Notes:

Enters his sixth professional season in 2013-14. May was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the fifth round (151st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He made his pro debut with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL on March 11, 2008 at Phoenix, where he scored a goal to record his first career pro point. He represented Las Vegas at the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game, playing for the National Conference. May led Las Vegas to the 2012 Western Conference Championship, but lost in the 2012 Kelly Cup Finals to the Florida Everblades in five games. He made his AHL debut with the Norfolk Admirals on October 10, 2008 against Hershey; he logged his first AHL point with an assist with the San Antonio Rampage on February 8, 2009 at Rochester and scored his first AHL goal with San Antonio on March 14, 2009 vs. Houston. May has appeared in 141 career AHL games with Norfolk, Providence and San Antonio, scoring 20 points (4 goals, 16 assists) and recorded 122 penalty minutes. He spent the 2012-13 season in France, playing for the Ducs D’Angers (Angers Eagle-Owls) of the Ligue Magnus, where he helped Angers win the regular season with a record of 21-2-3 (45 pts.), but lost in the 2013 Ligue Magnus Finals to the Rouen Dragons in seven games. May played five full seasons of major junior hockey for the Prince Albert Raiders and the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League. In 310 career WHL games he had 143 points (19 goals, 124 assists) and 338 penalty minutes. May appeared in 44 career WHL playoff games, reaching the 2005 WHL Conference Finals with Prince Albert and reaching the 2008 WHL Championship with Lethbridge, losing to the Spokane Chiefs in four games.
