Biography
LAST SEASON | 2010-11
• Made his professional debut with the Rivermen on 10/8/10 vs. Manitoba and recorded his first pro goal and assist in game #2 on 10/10/10 vs. Milwaukee.
• Made his NHL debut with St. Louis on 1/12/11 vs. Anaheim and scored his first NHL goal on 1/26/11 at Calgary.
• Was recalled to St. Louis on three different occasions and totaled seven NHL games. Was injured during his final trip to St. Louis making him ineligible for the Calder Cup playoffs.
CAREER
2009-10: Began the season and played the first 33 games with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. Scored 11 goals and added 26 assists for 37 points including 43 penalty minutes. Represented London at the 2009 OHL All-Star Game in Windsor. Was traded on 1/11/10 to Plymouth (OHL). Played 19 regular season games for Plymouth and nine post-season contests. Helped Team USA to a gold medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships by scoring a goal and adding four assists in 7 games.
2008-09: Played 59 regular season games for London (OHL) recording a career-high 29 goals and 31 assists for a career best 60 points. Appeared in 14 post-season games scoring five times and recording five assists for 10 points. Member of the US Under-18 Team in April 2008.
2006-08: Played 129 regular season games in his first two seasons with London (OHL). Tallied 20 goals and 36 assists for 56 points in that time. McRae also played in 20 post-season contests for London. Helped London win the 2006-07 OHL regular season championship. Appeared in the 2007-2008 CHL Top Prospects Game in Edmonton, Alberta. Silver Medalist with Team USA at the 2006 World Under-17 Challenge.
PERSONAL: Son of former St. Louis Blues enforcer Basil McRae (1992-95). McRae appeared in 576 NHL games and recorded 2,453 penalty minutes in 16 NHL seasons with Quebec, Toronto, Detroit, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Chicago and St. Louis.
