Biography
2011-12: Completed his second full season of professional hockey with Binghamton, matching a career-high in goals (four) and setting new career highs in assists (16) and points (20).
2010-11: Made his professional debut with Binghamton on Oct. 8 versus Adirondack… Scored his first professional point (a goal) that evening in the B-Sens’ 5-1 win against the Phantoms…Recalled by Ottawa for the first time in his career on March 22 ... Registered his first NHL point (an assist) on March 27 at Atlanta (a 5-4 Ottawa shootout loss) ... Made his NHL debut on March 22 at Carolina (a 4-3 Ottawa loss) skating in 9:23 time-on-ice... Became only the second Ottawa Senator (Butler) to make his NHL debut against the Hurricanes, and the first to do so in Carolina.
2009-10: Finished his second season at the University of Denver on March 26 when the Pioneers fell to the Rochester Institute of Technology in the National Collegiate Athletic Association East Regional semi-finals … Was fifth in team scoring and first among defensemen … Was sixth in penalty minutes.
