Biography
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: 2011-12: Walker’s 18 assists and 27 points on the season were both highs in his professional career… Picked up first multi-point game as a professional with a goal and an assist in a 5-3 Lake Erie loss in Toronto, 10/15/11… Scored game-winning goal- his lone GWG of ’11-12- to cap off a 5-3 comeback win 1/14/12 @ CHI… Scored three goals and added three assists over a five-game point streak from 1/28/12-2/10/12 for his longest point streak as a professional; the Monsters were 4-0-0-1 over the span… Missed final 13 games of the regular season due to injury… 2010-11: Spent first pro season with Lake Erie, ranking fifth on the Monsters with 75 games played… Dressed in five playoff games, earning a goal and an assist… Signed to entry-level contract with Colorado Avalanche following training camp on 9/28/10… 2009-10: In third season with WHL’s Portland Winterhawks, ranked fifth on the team with 57 points in 61 games… His 27 goals were second on the team, and his 103 PIM placed fourth on the squad… Picked up 10 points in 13 playoff games… Skated in all seven games for Team USA at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship, helping the Americans win the gold medal… 2008-09: Led Portland (WHL) with 29 goals and finished second on team with 52 points in 71 games… Second on club with nine power play goals and two shorthanded goals… Luke’s father, Gordie, played parts of four NHL seasons with the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings.
