Biography
2011-12: Completed his first full season of professional hockey with Binghamton, tallying 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) and 127 penalty minutes in 73 games… Was recalled by Ottawa for the first time in his career on Jan. 17 and made his NHL debut on Jan. 19 at San Jose… Ranked first among B-Sens defensemen and was 10th in overall team scoring… Ranked third among B-Sens (and fourth among AHL rookies) in penalty minutes… Was named the B-Sens 2011-12 Rookie of the Year.
2010-11: Completed his junior season with the Clarkson University Golden Knights (ECAC), tallying 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 31 games and serving as team captain... Ranked first (tie) among Golden Knights defensemen in scoring… Established a new collegiate career high in penalty minutes (67)… Signed an entry-level contract with Ottawa on March 11 before concluding the season with Binghamton, where he made his professional debut on March 23 vs. Syracuse… Registered his first professional point with an assist on the game-winning goal in Game 1 of the Atlantic Division final at Portland on April 27.
2009-10: Emerged as an offensive force for the Golden Knights, recording 19 points and eight goals after posting just two points (1+1=2) as a rookie …Recorded two goals and one assist in ECAC Hockey first-round playoff series at St. Lawrence… Honored with Clarkson’s Mike Morrison Coaches’ Award for teamwork, hustle and dedication.
2008-09: First collegiate point was an assist on the game-winner in 4-3 overtime victory against Union (Jan. 23) … Followed in the next game with his first Clarkson goal, the opening score in the Knights’ 4-3 overtime victory over Rensselaer (Jan. 24) … Named to ECAC weekly Honor Roll once (Jan.19).
