Biography
2011-12: Joined the Griffins on a tryout after concluding his junior year with Notre Dame, recording two points (1-1—2) in seven games…Made his professional debut, 3/22/12 at San Antonio…Tallied his first two AHL points, 3/31/12 vs. Oklahoma City…Made his NHL debut with the Red Wings in the team’s final regular season contest, 4/7/12 vs. Chicago, recording four penalty minutes and three shots…Notched a career-best 25 points (9-16—25) in 37 games in his final season with the Fighting Irish…Finished as a runner-up to current Griffin Luke Glendening (Michigan) for the CCHA Best Defensive Forward award…Ranked among team leaders with nine goals (4th), 16 assists (3rd), five power play goals (T3rd) and one shorthanded goal (2nd)…Opened the season with a pair of two-point games while recording 12 points (4-8—12) in his first 10 games overall, 10/14/11-11/15/11…Registered 21 points (7-14—21) in the team’s first 20 games, 10/14/11-1/7/12…Notched a season-high three points (2-1—3), 1/7/12 at Minnesota.

2009-10: Recorded 17 points (6-11—17) for Notre Dame as one of the youngest players in the NCAA, beginning his collegiate career at the age of 17…Tied for fourth on the team with three power play goals and ranked second with 96 shots…Tied for the team lead in scoring by freshman…Scored his first collegiate goal in his first game, 10/9/09 vs. Alabama-Huntsville…Racked up an early-season five-game point streak, with five points (1-4—5) from 11/14/09-11/27/09.
2008-09: Logged 40 games for St. Catharines in Canada’s junior B ranks and recorded a team-high 73 points (27-46—73)…Honored with the Ontario Hockey Association Junior B Top Prospects Award following the season in a presentation at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
