Reilly Smith (LW)
Enters his first full professional season in 2012-13. Smith was drafted by Dallas in the third round (69th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, before he joined the Miami University Redhawks of the CCHA. He his team, and the CCHA, in goal-scoring each of the last two seasons and during the 2011-12 season he finished second in the nation in goals behind his new Stars teammate Austin Smith. He led the nation in game-winning goals (8) – which tied a Miami school record – was a finalist for the 2011-12 Hobey Baker Award and he was twice named to the All-CCHA First Team (2010-11, 2011-12). At the conclusion of his junior season, Smith signed a three-year entry level contract with Dallas on 3/25/12 and made his pro and NHL debut on 3/28/12 at Edmonton. His older brother Brendan plays for the Detroit Red Wings and his oldest brother Rory plays for the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League.
Made his AHL debut on 10/13/12 at San Antonio…Notched his first career pro and AHL point with an assist on 10/14/12 vs. Charlotte.
