Jyrki Jokipakka (D)
Enters his first season in North America in 2013-14. Jokipakka was selected by Dallas in the seventh round (195th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The Tampere, Finland native grew up playing for his hometown club, Ilves, working his way through the junior ranks to make his senior team debut during the 2010-11 season. Over the past three seasons Jokipakka has played in 159 career games in the SM-liiga, the top senior division in Finland, where he had 44 points (15 goals, 29 assists) and 56 penalty minutes. Last season he led all Ilves defensemen in assists and points and was fourth overall on the team in points. Jokipakka was assigned by Dallas to the Texas Stars on April 11, 2013 and he practiced with the team for several weeks, but did not appear in any regular season or playoff games last year. He represented Finland at the 2011 IIHF Under-20 World Championship in Buffalo, New York, helping Finland reach the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Russia.
