Biography

2011-12: Played for Peoria Rivermen (AHL) in St. Louis Blues organization. Scored 7 goals and 35 assists in a durable 75 game season. 2010-11 • Ranked fourth overall and second among defensemen with 40 points (10g, 30a) for Adirondack while only appearing in 59 games. • His 40 assists were 13th among AHL defensemen and recorded two assists in six different games. • Started the season with Syracuse before being recalled to Anaheim on 10/19/11. He was traded to Philadelphia on 11/21/10 (with Rob Bordson) for Patrick Maroon and David Laliberte. CAREER 2009-10: Began the season with Philadelphia before being assigned to Adirondack. Recorded 13 points (5g, 8a) in just 13 games for Adirondack and was recalled on 12/27/09. Scored his first NHL goal on 1/1/10 in the NHL Winter Classic against Boston at Fenway Park. Finished with four points (2g, 2a) in a career-high 21 NHL games. 2008-09: Officially acquired by Philadelphia on 6/6/08 from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Ryan Potulny. Led all Phantoms and ranked 17th in the AHL (second among defensemen) with 45 assists. Was named an AHL First-Team All-Star after posting a career-high 57 points (12g, 45a) in 76 games for Philadelphia Phantoms. Registered three assists for Canada in 2009 AHL All-Star Classic in Worcester, Mass. Collected two assists in the same game 13 times during the season. 2007-08: After starting the season with 35 games in Springfield he was loaned by Edmonton to the Hershey Bears on 2/21/08 (in exchange for Ryan Potulny). Missed 14 games (12/21/07-1/21/08) while he played for Team Canada in the 2007 Spengler Cup held in Davos, Switzerland. 2006-07: Started the season with Grand Rapids but totaled 16 games played for the Edmonton Oilers. Scored his first professional goal on 10/13/06 in his 65th AHL game and 75th pro game. 2005-06: Made his professional debut with the Hamilton Bulldogs on 10/14/05 vs. Grand Rapids. Was recalled by Edmonton just seven games into the season and made his NHL debut on 11/4/05 in St. Louis and logged 18:24 of ice time (season-high). OHL: Served as team captain for 2004-05 London Knights who went 59-7-2 and set a Canadian Hockey League record for longest undefeated streak (29-0-2) to start the season and went on to win the Memorial Cup. Named OHL and CHL defenseman of the year with 69 points in 62 games during the regular season and 20 points in 18 playoff games. Was named an OHL First-Team All-Star. Scored the game-winner for team Canada at the 2005 World Junior Championships held in Grand Forks, ND. Personal: Brother, Corey, was drafted Florida in the sixth round (#181) in 2007. Spent the 2010-11 season with Kalamazoo Wings.
