Biography
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: 2011-12: Finished tied for first on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) in goals with (27), and second in points with 53 in second season with the club… Carried a personal season-high eight-game point streak from 10/11/11 to 11/4/11, picking up six goals and seven assists for 13 points in that time… The streak included a personal season-long five-game goal scoring streak from 10/13/11 to 10/22/11, in which he tallied six goals… 2010-11: Began season with Geneve Servette of the Swiss-A league, before playing 65 games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL)… Attended Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) training camp… 2009-10: Spent entire season with Springfield Falcons (AHL), playing in 36 games… 2008-09: Attended first NHL training camp with Edmonton Oilers… Scored first AHL goal on 10/31/08 against the Lowell Devils… Split season between Springfield (42 games) and the ECHL’s Stockton Thunder (7 games)… 2007-08: Made professional debut, playing in four AHL games for the Springfield Falcons… Played first professional game on 4/5/08 for Springfield at Binghamton (AHL), and collected first two professional points- both assists- 4/13/08 at Worcester… After completing collegiate career, signed 2-year entry-level contract with Edmonton Oilers on 4/1/08 despite being undrafted… Finished four-year collegiate career at Michigan State by setting a career-high in points with 39, placing him second on the Spartans in scoring and 11th in the CCHA… Led Michigan State in goals as a senior with 20, and led team in power play goals with 10… Named Michigan State’s Offensive Player of the Year for the second time… 2006-07: Scored a collegiate career-high 23 goals and led the NCAA with eight game-winning tallies as he helped Michigan State capture the National Championship
