Enters his fifth professional season in 2013-14. Sceviour was drafted by Dallas in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and heading into the 2013-14 season he is the Texas Stars’ all-time leader in games played (294), plus-minus (+28), shorthanded goals (8), game-winning goals (16), shots (733), shootout goals (12) and shootout attempts (28). He ranks second in team history in points (177), assists (110) and power play assists (42) and is tied for second in goals (67). Last season Sceviour led Texas in points (52), plus-minus (+21), shorthanded goals (4) and shots (207) and was tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (4). He has the most penalty shot goals (2) in team history and he is tied with Travis Morin for the most penalty shot attempts (3). One of the Original Texas Stars, having played games in each of the team’s first four seasons of operations, Sceviour is one of only three players to skate in all 39 Calder Cup Playoff games in franchise history. He is also the only player in Stars history to record back-to-back 50-point seasons; he and Morin are the only two Texas players reach the 50-point milestone twice. Sceviour was a restricted free agent this summer and signed a one-year, two way contract with Dallas on June 20, 2013. He made his NHL debut with Dallas on February 5, 2011 at Philadelphia and scored his first NHL point with an assist on January 26, 2013 vs. St. Louis. His father, Darin Sceviour, was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fifth round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks in the 1986-87 season.
