Career Notes
Enters his fourth full professional season in 2012-13. Gazdic was drafted by Dallas in the sixth round (172nd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He re-signed with Dallas on 7/16/12, penning a one-year two way contract. Gazdic led Texas, and was tied for 68th overall in the AHL, in penalty minutes with 102 during the 2011-12 season. He ranks as the Stars all-time leader in penalty minutes (367) heading into the 2012-13 season and he holds single-season Texas records for most major penalties (21) and most penalty minutes (155). Gazdic made his pro debut with the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) on 4/3/09 against Phoenix and then scored a goal for his first pro point on 4/4/09 against Phoenix. He made his AHL debut with Texas on 10/23/09 against Lake Erie and notched his first career AHL point with a goal on 11/18/19 at Rockford. Gazdic’s first career AHL penalty minutes came on 10/24/09 versus Hamilton when he picked up a five-minute fighting major.
