Career Notes:

Enters his first professional season in 2013-14. Byström was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the second round (43rd overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He has played in 102 Swedish Hockey League (SHL) games as a junior-aged player for MODO and Färjestad BK, totaling 18 points (6 goals, 12 assists) and a +19 rating. Byström made his professional debut in the 2010-11 season, at the age of 16, skating in one game for MODO. During the next season, he collected 29 points (7 goals, 22 assists) for MODO’s J20 team of the SuperElit league and played 20 SHL games with MODO picking up one assist. At the 2012 IIHF Under-18 World Championships in the Czech Republic, Byström helped Sweden to a silver medal finish and had one assist in six games. He had six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in 30 SHL games with MODO in 2012-13. Byström signed a three-year entry-level contract with Dallas on July 16, 2012
