Steve Martins scored twice late in regulation, Jeff Heerema got the winner in overtime and Brandon Bochenski had a goal and three assists as Binghamton fought back from a three-goal deficit to post a 5-4 victory over Toronto at Ricoh Coliseum on Saturday.
Denis Hamel opened the scoring for the Senators 3:18 into the game, but the Marlies took control from there, as Ian White, Martin Sagat, Colin Murphy and Tyler Beechey staked Toronto to a 4-1 lead midway through the second period.
After Bochenski cut into the deficit on a power play with 6:38 left in the middle frame, he set up Martins at the 12:00 mark of the third period and again with 36 seconds remaining in regulation to tie it up.
Bochenski, who has 11 points in his last five games with the B-Senators, then earned the only assist on Heerema’s 15th goal of the season with 1:04 to go in OT.
It was Binghamton’s third win in four games overall and second in as many visits to Ricoh this season.
Even with the loss, the Marlies are 8-3-0-1 in their last dozen home contests.
