Flames re-sign Kulak

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed defenseman Brett Kulak to a one year, two-way contract.

Kulak, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, split last season between the Flames and their AHL affiliate, the Stockton Heat.

Kulak played 22 regular-season games with Stockton last season, totaling two goals and eight assists for 10 points with a plus-7 rating. Kulak added four assists in five Calder Cup Playoff games.

With Calgary, Kulak recorded three assists in 21 NHL contests.

Kulak, 23, enters his fourth pro season in 2017-18 having appeared in 117 career AHL games, showing 10 goals and 33 assists for 43 points. A fourth-round draft pick by Calgary in 2012, Kulak also has three assists in 30 career NHL games.
