AHL announces staff promotions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … American Hockey League President and Chief Executive Officer David Andrews announced today the promotions of Michael Murray to Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and Melissa Caruso to Vice President of Hockey Administration. 

Murray joined the AHL in 2011 after three seasons with the ECHL’s hockey operations department. An admitted member of the Massachusetts Bar, Murray is a graduate of Dartmouth College, where he played varsity hockey for four years, and Suffolk University Law School in Boston. 

Caruso, a native of Newton, Mass., has been with the American Hockey League since 2009. She is a graduate of Springfield College with a major in sport management and a minor in business administration. 

In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 88 percent of today’s NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and for the 14th year in a row, more than 6 million fans attended AHL games across North America in 2014-15.
