AHL announces suspension

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Hershey Bears defenseman Grant McNeill has been suspended for six (6) games as a result of his actions during an AHL game vs. Philadelphia on Apr. 12.

McNeill received a game misconduct under AHL Rule 70.6 for leaving the players’ bench during an altercation.

McNeill missed Hershey’s game on Apr. 13 vs. Binghamton, and he will also miss Hershey’s first five Calder Cup Playoff games, beginning with Game 1 of their division semifinal playoff series vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday. (If Hershey’s season ends before the sixth game of the suspension can be served, it will carry over to the 2008-09 regular season.)
