Amerks welcome 10 millionth fan

The Rochester Americans surpassed 10 million fans as a franchise on Wednesday night prior to the Amerks-Hamilton Bulldogs game at the Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.

The Amerks entered the night just 4,603 shy of 10 million fans, and passed the mark at 7:00 p.m. when Dan Mack of Fairport, N.Y., walked through the turnstiles. Dan was accompanied by his son Stuart and daughter Sidney. He was also joined by family friends, Gary and Ryan Landers.

Mack will receive a prize package featuring a certificate commemorating the event, a 10 Millionth Fan jersey, a holiday shopping trip to New York City from Bodine Unlimited Tours (Nov. 27-28) and suite tickets for a pair of Amerks games.

In addition, he was honored with a pre-game introduction and TV interview on Friday night, as the Amerks hosted the Binghamton Senators. Mack will also receive the Del Monte Lodge Escape Package courtesy of the hotel at 41 North Main Street in Pittsford.

The escape package includes the following:

  • Deluxe accommodations for two for one night (Friday or Saturday)
  • Breakfast in the Erie Grill or from Room Service
  • Dinner in Erie Grill, from Room Service or at Rio Bamba (Erie Grill or Room Service dinner includes wine, appetizer, salad, entree & dessert)
  • Wine and cheese and a selection of seasonal berries delivered to room upon arrival

The Amerks are currently in their 49th season of play in the American Hockey League.
