Bruins acquire Ouellet from Bolts

The Boston Bruins, parent club of the AHL’s Providence Bruins, have acquired forward Michel Ouellet and a fifth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from Tampa Bay in exchange for forward Benoit Pouliot.

Ouellet won a Calder Cup championship with Norfolk in 2011-12, recording 16 goals and 15 assists for 31 points in 55 regular-season games, as well as one goal and three assists in 14 postseason games.

A 10-year pro, Ouellet has appeared in 283 AHL games with Norfolk, Manitoba and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, registering 100 goals and 115 assists. He was an AHL All-Star in 2005 and was twice a 30-goal scorer in the AHL.

Ouellet has also skated in 190 NHL games with Vancouver, Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh, notching 52 goals and 64 assists for 116 points.
